Today I completed a few outstanding jobs on
the engine. I continued to clean the old
gaskets from the sump and clutch cover using a razor blade, being very careful
to ensure the aluminium was not damaged.
The clutch cover gasket took ages but the gasket remover spray I bought
seemed to help. Once both were clean I
installed them with new gaskets and Loctite gasket adhesive. I also changed the oil filter and spark
plugs.
I bought some black gloss spray for the
radiator bracket and gave it a couple of coats.
I fixed the bracket to the chassis with 3 rivnuts (I opted not to use
two of the holes I made in the bracket to keep the 9mm hole needed for the
rivnut away from the suspension.
Old spark plugs... Probably didn't actually need changing.
